Although the android app of WordPress is not good enough for people to leave their laptops and start blogging on their mobiles, it is surely a fantastic app if one looks positively. The latest version of WordPress, for desktop and laptops, has some exciting features and same is the thing with the android application.
The latest version (4.9) has quite some new and amazing features like fingerprint verification, advanced media detail screen, uploading of multiple images and videos etc.
Fingerprint Unlocking:
- The devices which have the required hardware and are compatible with Android 6.0 can now experience the fingerprint unlocking screen for WordPress. If the device is compatible for this feature, a fingerprint sign will be shown on the lock screen.
Advanced Media Library:
- The media library has also been upgraded. Now you can upload multiple images and videos simultaneously, which was not there in the previous version. The design of the media screen is also being upgraded.
Deleted Posts Go to Trash:
- In the previous version, the posts were permanently deleted, instead of going in the trash. This bug has been fixed and now every deleted post will first go into the trash.
Author Credentials:
- Another new thing in the latest version is that the credentials for the users, which are set as ‘Authors’ are not required from now on. We are not sure that if this is a good thing or a bad thing!
